In the many moments when terror strikes — whether in the violence of natural disaster or of human heartlessness — we call on God to lift us from a sense of helplessness to give ourselves to one another.
I see this as a song about facing into the pain of both the earth when it is in distress, or people’s assaulted by war, with prayer to exercise faith and courage.
