We bring, you take, and bless and break,
and all are fed with wine and bread.

The night you were betrayed,
good friend and Lord,
you ate with friends,
your people’s freedom meal,
and gave them bread,
and shared a cup of wine,
to show how you would
give yourself for all.

Beside the sea, at dawn,
you came again,
when all the world
declared you dead and gone,
and cooked your friends
a meal of bread and fish,
to show your glory,
endlessly alive.
