I hide from it, explain it all away;
I first deny, then from it quickly flee.

it changes all I know and all I see.
It crowds out rage and all my nurtured fears
and bids me rise with heart and soul set free.

It is an awesome thing to be so loved,
unburdened now from all my guilt and shame,
to see myself as an agent of your love;
in task you give, to truly find my name.

It is an awesome thing to be so loved,
to find my home and not to be alone;
to find in self and others all around
the very healing love in Jesus shown.

 It is an awesome thing to be so loved;
your word and will take flesh in our own time.
Salvation comes and all the earth is blessed;
justice and peace most joyfully are rhymed.

It is an awesome thing to be so loved,
be held and fed, be treasured without cost
where love inspires trust and nurtures hope
where joy delights and nothing good is lost.
