In Flanders Fields

Music by Pat Mayberry
Words by Pat Mayberry
Tune Name: FLANDERS FIELDS

Lyrics as Poetry

In Flanders fields the poppies blow,
between the crosses row on row,
that mark our place, and in the sky,
the larks still bravely singing, fly.

Rest now every heart and soul,
Bless the seeds you’ve sown.
Peace we must guard and grow,
so the sounds of war they cry no more.

And into battle they did go,
the hell of war they could not know,
scorching earth and shattered loss,
the courage and the brutal cost.

Rest now every heart and soul,
Bless the seeds you’ve sown.
Peace we must guard and grow,
so the sounds of war they cry no more.

Through weary days their hearts did strive,
to keep the fires of hope alive.
All who prayed this flame would burn,
did watch and wait for love’s return.

Rest now every heart and soul,
Bless the seeds you’ve sown.
Peace we must guard and grow,
so the sounds of war they cry no more.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow,
while children live and learn and grow.
Thankful hearts for gifts bestowed
remember this forevermore.

Rest now every heart and soul,
Bless the seeds you’ve sown.
Peace we must guard and grow,
so the sounds of war they cry no more.
