Give thanks to God for Word of Christmas,
for Christ among us, near as bread and wine;
rejoice in wonder at this smallness
that draws together all the cosmic scene.Rejoice, be still, as love incarnate
is bred into our very blood and bone;
give thanks for being and becoming:
our past, our future, woven into one.Give thanks to God for soul and body,
for seed and soil – the miracle of life;
rejoice in hope, conceived and given,
take love beyond the limits of belief.Rejoice, reach out for peace and wholeness
by being fully of this time and earth.
Give thanks! In Christ, alive beside us,
our highest human-ness is brought to birth!
