Vancouver Island Gospel & World Music Choir is now ISLAND SOUL CHOIR.
ISLAND SOUL CHOIR is an ecumenical/community choir with singers from throughout the central Vancouver Island area directed by BRIAN TATE. The choir was founded in August 2007 by Ron Klusmeier as The Vancouver Island Gospel & World Music Choir and has been based at Knox United Church in Parksville, BC.
BRIAN TATE is an award-winning composer, musician, and educator. Brian is the music minister at Mt. Seymour United Church in North Vancouver and offers choir workshops across Canada. Friend-kin-ship with Ron Klusmeier led to the formation of the VIGWM Choir and Brian’s now regular journeys to Vancouver Island.

After two successful years under the mentoring wing of Musiklus, the choir proudly entered the 2009-2010 Season with a new name and its own administrative personnel. Visit the new Island Soul Choir website for information about the choir’s 2010 schedule or becoming a member.
Brian Tate continues as the charismatic Musical Director and looks forward to leading the choir to new highs in the upcoming season.
